Mother's Day Message 2026
5.10.2026 Pastor Kendon
◦If you want to be made whole there has to be separation in your life. Get off the porch.
◦Going from glory to glory means moving to another level spiritually and personally.
◦Every new level demands departure.
◦You cannot step into a new season while holding on to an old environment.
◦Growth often requires leaving behind what no longer aligns with where God is taking you.
◦At Impact, “Get Planted”
◦“Get Planted” is one of Impact’s 12 tones/values and highlights the importance of being rooted in the right spiritual environment.
◦Getting planted at Impact Church will disrupt your comfort zone.
◦Following Jesus creates separation from old environments and relationships.
◦As you grow closer to Christ, things that once seemed enjoyable or funny no longer satisfy.
◦The woman at the well leaving her water pots symbolizes leaving behind old sources of satisfaction after encountering Jesus.
◦Spiritual growth changes your desires, thinking, and priorities.
◦What once fed you can begin to irritate you as God elevates your spirit.
◦Growth creates distance between who you were and who God is calling you to become.
◦People may say, “You’ve changed,” but transformation is evidence of growth, not rejection of your past.
◦When heaven places purpose inside of you, stagnant places begin to suffocate you.
◦Ezekiel 37: stagnant places becoming alive through flowing water.
◦God frequently uses childbirth imagery throughout Scripture to describe spiritual transformation.
◦Themes of labor pains, barren seasons, and spiritual pregnancy represent the process of growth and breakthrough.
◦Spiritual encounters with God become unforgettable defining moments
◦God will disturb your comfort before He expands your life.
◦Anything God births in you will first make you uncomfortable.
◦Spiritual expansion often begins with disruption.
◦Isaiah 54:1 “Sing, O barren…” even in seasons that feel empty, dry, or impossible.
◦God calls people to worship and praise before they see the promise fulfilled.
◦“Desolate” does not mean abandoned by God; it means life has drained you dry.
◦Isaiah was speaking prophetically to weary, broken, exhausted people who had endured trials and disappointment.
◦Isaiah 37:3 sets the stage: “The children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth.”
◦Some people are carrying heavy spiritual, emotional, or personal burdens while feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.
✓The enemy attacks your strength because he is terrified of what you are about to step into.
◦Heavy pressure can indicate that heaven has placed something weighty and significant inside of you.
◦God often allows pressure because something greater is being birthed spiritually.
◦Naomi’s story in the book of Ruth illustrates broken expectations.
◦Naomi expected stability, family, love, and a good future, but instead experienced famine, displacement, loss, and grief.
◦Broken expectations can deeply wound a person when life does not unfold the way they envisioned.
◦The enemy may not destroy someone quickly but instead slowly drain them over time.
◦When expectations die, parts of a person can begin dying emotionally and spiritually if they are not careful.
◦Broken expectations are often a major source of pain in marriages and relationships.
◦Lazarus: “Show me where you laid him” symbolizes revisiting where things fell apart.
◦Many relationships begin with hope and excitement but later become filled with conflict, disappointment, and distance.
◦People often envision an ideal future (“white picket fence” life), but reality can become messy and painful.
◦The contrast between expectations and reality can create discouragement, exhaustion, and spiritual weariness.
◦“Seth” = “Compensation”
◦Genesis 4:25, where Eve says God has “appointed” her another son in place of Abel.
◦Spiritually, Seth is often seen as representing a new beginning after loss / Restoration after grief
◦God is still working even in barren, painful, disappointing, and exhausting seasons.
